Director – Neb Zurkic
Neb Zurkic is the principle and a geologist with over 30 years of experience, most of which is mine-site based. He is a member of the AusIMM, the AIG and the IAGI-MGEI . A Competent Person under the JORC Code and Kode-KCMI for several types of deposits, Neb is also familiar with SEC and NI 43-101 reporting standards.
Primary areas of expertise include deposit modelling, resource estimation, ore control and technical auditing. Neb has been involved in resource estimation, due diligence reviews, ore control and mine to mill processes for a range of commodities and geological settings in Australia, South and Central Asia, South America and West Africa.
Neb has mine based experience acquired at the very small (Perseverance Corporation Limited’s Nagambie and Fosterville projects) to the very large, world class (Newmont’s Batu Hijau and Yanacocha projects). The technical experience extends into corporate level management having served on several private and ASX listed mining and mineral exploration companies.
A degree qualified Geologist (RMIT Applied Science 1990) Neb acquired a Masters in Mineral and Energy Economics (Macquarie University) and is currently undertaking a Masters in Geostatistics at The University of Adelaide.
Senior Exploration Geologist – Chris Jelonek
Chris is an accomplished geologist with over 20 years experience exploring for a wide range of base and precious metal deposits in a range of climatic, political and cultural environments across remote regions of Australia and Bolivia.
A degree qualified geologist with a BSc(Hons) in Geology, Chris’ primary area of geological expertise lies in remote Greenfields and near mine Brownfields exploration, working well both as a single operator and as part of a larger team. Chris is extremely competent and broadly experienced in the logistics of drill program planning, management, and supervision, and is well versed in QA/QC procedures and implementation, and all aspects of diamond and RC drilling and logging, mapping and sampling techniques.
Chris has undertaken exploration campaigns and drilling management in the Savannah deserts of Far North Queensland to mountainous terrains of diverse geological settings across the Bolivian Andes for large and small scale miners and explores including CRA Exploration, North Exploration and Republic Gold Limited
Chris bolsters ZMC’s resource definition and development expertise through his professionalism, performance and integrity gained from several years as a Hydrographic / Oceanographic surveyor for the Royal Australia Navy. Chris is familiar with a wide range of industry-standards and prides himself on a proactive approach to health, safety, community and the environment.
